Greetings @everyone
We’ve received the following transmission relay from Contributor @Niko
After a terrible loss to the Rebellion, the Imperial Squadrons have rallied under the watchful eye of Lord Vader himself to bring destruction and death to the terrorist plague.
Sharpen your skills, the time has come.On Tuesday, 03-01-22, at approximately 19:00 CST (8:00 PM EST/5:00 PM PST), the Imperial fleet will arrive in deep space to once again assume control of the region. Due to the superiority of the Rebellion during the last battle, the Imperials will be fielding their top pilots and squadrons to ensure that the Rebellion will never again find space superiority in the galaxy.
For those who are not directly familiar with Space PvP I will offer a few tips.....
1. Get Prepared - Talk to Space PvP'ers.
• This is not Restuss. It is a different world and will frustrate newcomers to no end. Space PvP'ers are very passionate about their craft and are thrilled to help those who aren't as knowledgeable.
2. Rules / Etiquette - While there are technically no rules, there are a few points of etiquette,
• The meeting point is 0,0,0 in deep space. This can be reached in a number of ways for every faction. Google is your friend
• Missiles are acceptable but I highly recommend being courteous with them and using them as an exception rather than the rule. The alternative means the imps will load out Oppies all with three missile tubes and the results will be....... explosive.
• During the battle (and before) one side or the other will "clear the zone". This will make all of the NPCs de-spawn and make for a better experience for all. As this is mutually beneficial to all, it is expected that the side clearing be left alone to do so. Not doing so is considered "cherry picking" and will cause significant amounts of consternation so if you do, be prepared to reap the consequences likely from both sides. (edited)
• Spawn camping is also frowned upon. It is not sporting and not conducive to a good battle. This is why we meet at "zeros". This makes it fair for all.
3. Trash talk
• Among pilots, this is part of the culture. It's not only accepted but expected. HOWEVER, keep it clean, use common sense and don't be hateful.
Since the Imperials got their butts handed to them during the last Space PvP Event, I will be starting on the Imperial side this time. If the Imperials dominate this time I will be shifting to the Rebel side to balance things out.
As usual there will be rewards handed out at the end. For those who attended the last event, be prepared to be surprised.
End Transmission…
