Hello Beyond, and welcome to this edition of Friday Feature! As the fight for control of the galaxy ensues Rebel and Imperial forces contemplate over strategic locations of interest around the galaxy that will be vital assets for total domination in the Galactic Civil War. Imperial and Rebel High Commands have set their attention to Keren on Naboo, Dearic on Talus, and Bestine on Tatooine as cities of high importance for control. Players can join in on the Invasion System here on SWG Beyond and help their faction bring peace and justice to the galaxy. Let us begin with introducing what invasions are and what players receive for participating in them.

Invasions and Rewards
Invasions are timed events that take place in the cities of Keren on Naboo, Dearic on Talus, and Bestine on Tatooine. Each invasion lasts exactly one hour and will never happen simultaneously with another invasion. Players can use their Planetary Map on these three planets to see which faction controls the city and when the next invasion is set to take place. Additionally, GCW terminals in your inventory and placed in player houses will post information about city invasions. Each invasion will consist of one Invading faction and one Defending faction. The goal of the invading team is to wipe out defenses that have been built up by the defending team and take out the defending General. The General is a level 110 Gold Elite NPC that will stand at the center of each invasion area and will only become attackable once the invasion has 15 minutes or less remaining. If at any time the offensive team kills the General the battle will immediately end with a win for the attacking team and a loss for the defenders. Attacking the General will force a player to become Special Forces, making them attackable by other players that are also Special Forces. The winning team of an invasion will receive 40 Galactic Civil War Tokens specific for their faction and 1000 GCW points and the losing team will receive 10 Galactic Civil War Tokens specific for their faction and 100 GCW points. Players who participate in invasions as Special Forces are awarded twice the number of tokens and GCW points making it a total of 80 GCW Tokens and 2000 GCW points for a win and 20 GCW Tokens and 200 GCW points for a loss.

Phase 1 – Building Phase

Invasions are broken down into two primary phases which players of all professions can participate in. As the invasion begins Phase 1 will start off: The Building Phase. During this phase both the attacking and defending team can construct a number of factional support units and structures for help in the invasion. To build these support units a Trader must be present that constructs kits of various types to hand out to combat professions. As the defending team Traders are able to construct Patrol Kits to build reinforcement points for troopers, Barricade Kits to construct barricades that players can use as defensive structures in combat, Turret Kits to construct powerful turrets that will assist in attacking enemy forces, and Tower Kits to construct towers for players to defend from. Traders can interact with the Supply Terminal in the invasion area to receive the supplies needed to construct the kits, players do not need to bring any of their own resources to construct kits. Smugglers can slice the terminals to allow Traders to have access to better resources to craft more uses of kits and have higher effectiveness. Kits are used on construction pylons that are found throughout the city. Each pylon has a specific type that each specific kit type can be used on. Once a pylon hits 100% effectiveness it cannot be built up any further.

Building pylons up to higher percentages will spawn in stronger units for those specific pylons. Each pylon type will award players a quest to build 10 of the specific unit on the pylon. Completion of construction quests will provide combatants with 5 GCW Tokens and 250 GCW points and Special Forces with 10 GCW Tokens and 500 GCW points. As players construct pylons, they will receive construction fatigue, in increments of 5 for Combat Professions and Entertainers and increments of 1 for Traders after each successful use of a kit. This fatigue will make each consecutive build on a pylon longer, so it is important to cure the fatigue.

Entertainers can join in on the invasions by helping cure fatigue for fellow comrades by dancing in the invasion areas. To cure fatigue Entertainers can speak to the Field Officer to receive their quest to cure 10 stacks of fatigue from players, which is repeatable throughout the entire duration of the invasion.

For the attacking team players will report to one of 3 camps located on the outskirts of each city. These camps consist of Supply Terminals, a Field Officer, a 2-1B Medical Droid, and a Cloning Point. Traders are able to construct Offensive Patrols, Invasion Vehicles, and Siege Vehicles kits to push into the city to assist in taking out the enemy forces. Every profession can use kits crafted by Traders and receive the same rewards as the defensive pylon construction quests. Once the 30 minutes are up for construction phase players will then step into the Invasion Phase.

Phase 2 – Invasion Phase
The Invasion Phase consists of a 30-minute period in which the defending team must protect the General from being killed by the invading faction. Combat Professions can interact with turrets and barricades to receive defense missions in which they can receive GCW tokens and GCW points for defeating 10 enemy NPCs in the perimeter of the turret and barricade. Be careful not to venture too far from the ones you have chosen to defend otherwise you will abandon your quest and must start over. These defense quests are repeatable and will yield combatants 10 GCW Tokens and 250 GCW points and Special Forces 20 GCW Tokens and 500 GCW points. The invading faction can receive quests to destroy defending turrets, barricades, and 10 patrol point units. These offense quests are repeatable and will yield combatants 10 GCW Tokens and 250 GCW points and Special Forces 20 GCW Tokens and 500 GCW points.
During the Invasion Phase Traders can play a part as well by assisting in repairing barricades and turrets from attacking forces or repair patrol points and damaged vehicles on the offensive side. Each crafter mission will give 4 GCW Tokens and 50 GCW points for combatants and 8 GCW Tokens and 100 GCW points for Special Forces.

Entertainers can continue to cure the fatigue of fellow players in the invasion area and also take on additional tasks from the Field Officer. Entertainers can receive a quest to rally demoralized troops around the invasion area. Find these demoralized troopers and dance in front of them to bring their spirits up. Once you moralize three troopers you will complete the quest and receive 5 GCW tokens and 250 GCW as combatant and 10 GCW Tokens and 500 GCW as Special Forces. This mission is doable on both sides. Additionally, entertainers can interact with Patrol Points to start an inspiration mission. Players who perform near the Patrol Point for thirty seconds will inspire the troopers and complete the quest. The troops that spawn from an entertained Patrol Point are given a buff called "GCW Morale Boost" which gives Modify Innate Armor +1000.00 and Reduce Damage Taken +5.00%.

Spies can join in on the fight by sabotaging patrol points of the opposite faction. Field Officers on both sides will give Spies missions to find locations of enemy patrol points and to destroy those control points. Finding control points and completing the quest will yield combatants 1 GCW Token and 12 GCW points and Special Forces 2 GCW Tokens and 24 GCW points. To destroy enemy patrol points Spies can use explosive charges that their Field Officers provide them. 5 charges of explosives are given at a time and are resuppliable at the Field Officer at any time. When a Patrol Point is destroyed the Spy will receive 10 GCW Tokens and 250 GCW points as combatant and 20 GCW Tokens and 500 GCW points as Special Forces.

Medics can also perform specialized tasks for the invasion phase by providing Battlefield Triage to wounded soldiers. Healing the wounded soldiers will add fatigue to the Medic which will make the next healing process go slower, similar to the building phase. By completing a triage quest Medics can receive 1 GCW Token and 12 GCW points as combatant and 2 GCW Tokens and 24 GCW points as Special Forces.

Wounded Imperial Trooper

Throughout the invasion phase invading Assault Grunts at combat level 60 will assist the units built by players in attacking the city. Once the Invasion Phase has reached its halfway mark (15 minutes) the General will become attackable by enemy forces. If at any time he is killed the invasion will immediately end.
