We are excited to announce that with today’s server reset, we will be pushing the long awaited, much anticipated, and often asked about Species Update.
Update: New Playable Species
A little history… The species update was first announced in the spring of 2022, by a former staff member. This staff member subsequently left the Beyond team a short time later, leaving our development team in the unenviable position of picking up the pieces of a project promised to the community.
Upon review, previous completed development was NOT suitable for an NGE server, requiring the Development team to start over. Unfortunately, a QA review of the originally announced species also uncovered a multitude of quality issues.
To ensure the best possible results, we have had to reduce the number of new species to nine. Additional species will be added in the future.
While these events have led to a significate delay, the day is finally upon us, and that day is TODAY!
With today’s server reset, new and existing players will be able to enjoy the following new playable species:
• Chiss Male / Female
• Nautolan Male
• Arcona Male
• Devaronian Male
• Gotal Male
• Gran Male
• Nightsister Female
• Singing Mountain Clan Female
• Togruta Female
At login, a one per account - no trade shared, decorative species respec device will be granted. This device WILL allow players to change from their existing species to any of the nine new species. This device WILL NOT allow players to respec to any of the original species, nor will it allow gender changes. The device will have three “charges” and can be used on the same character multiple times or on up to three different characters per account.
Note: Players will need to employ the Image Design skills of an entertainer to customize their characters once the respec has been completed.
CAUTION: Please choose carefully, Staff does NOT have the ability to “undo” a species change.
