Can I buff my own toons?

I have an Ent, logged in and dancing. I have a combat toon logged in and watching my ent. When I try to buff my combat toon it tells me I can't because that person is not watching me, When I know they are. When I switch over to my Combat toon and radial dial my ent it gives the option to stop watching. Any ideas why this is occuring? Is this an added "feature" specific to Beyond? I did this all time on Legends.

Yes you can buff your own characters. You just need to enable auto-target by pressing "Y" on your keyboard.

You CANNOT however, get your entertainer tokens from buffing your own toons.

major bummer as I dont see many coming and going to ME since most got their own ent with set already haha.
