Should Defensive Specials Affect DOT Damage?

Greetings, Community!

We’re reaching out to gather your input on an important gameplay balance topic regarding certain defensive specials, including Bounty Hunter Shields, Vanguard Escort, and Commando Standfast. Currently, these abilities state that they reduce incoming damage by X%, but this does not apply to Damage Over Time (DOT) effects. This has led to some confusion and discussions about their functionality.

We’re considering two potential paths forward:
Change the functionality: Update these abilities so they reduce X% of all incoming damage, including DOTs.
Update the descriptions: Leave the abilities as they currently work (not affecting DOTs) and clarify the descriptions to match their functionality.

Id say change the abilities to just be in line with their description. Promotes better ability interaction and less punishing when your are kited and just die around a corner due to 0 counter play assuming you aren't a medic with cleanses or have shard of the serpent on cd

Change abilities to do what they say they should do, reduce ALL incoming damage by a %. Same with certain banners that also reduce by a damage reduction %.

you going to go through all the profs with points they spend for dot reduction seems like waisted points will the boxs be reworked ?

Wouldent this basically make some classes broken.... Theres medics for a reason? just remove dots completely if you wanna make DR effect them. like no point in heavy weapons. you can already get DOT Resist high as hell with spice+ent this is not counting other sources. sure cost spice/ent slot but we already have the stats in place for this why not just make them a flat DR to dots instead and leave other DR from effecting them. then you at least get the same effort but at a cost without making stuff busted.
