Overview
The GCW Leaderboard has been rebuilt from the ground up, and there is now a new weekly Fishing Leaderboard that works the same way. Both boards reset every Thursday at 19:00 GMT.

• No more lost points. Your points are saved on your character as soon as you earn them, so logging out, travelling, a zone restart or a server crash no longer wipe your week.

• One window for everything. Type /leaderboard, use a GCW terminal, or use your fishing pole to open the leaderboard hub. From there you can see GCW, Fishing, Gigantic Fish, Elusive Fish and My Standing.

• Clearer boards. The top three are shown in gold, silver and bronze, and your own row is highlighted. Each board also shows the gap to the place above, how far places have moved, where the reward places end, and how long is left in the week. Use the Last week / This week buttons to switch between weeks.

• Winner mail and Discord. Winners get in-game mail, and the results for each week are posted to the community Discord.

GCW Leaderboard

Each week, Imperial and Rebel players, guilds and cities compete on separate boards. The top 10 players and the top 5 guilds and cities on each faction are rewarded.

Earning points

  • Anything that earns you GCW points also earns Leaderboard points, including the server-wide GCW point bonus.
  • Factional presence also counts. To earn it you must be declared and in a contested GCW region, not inside a building, not swimming and not cloaked. You earn presence every minute, and it is added to your score every 12 minutes. You can also earn presence while flying your own declared ship, in space or on an atmospheric flight planet.
  • Your points are shared with your guild and your city, as long as they are aligned with your faction. A guild's or city's score is the total its members earned for it that week.
  • Your score updates every 12 minutes, when you log in and when you log out. The boards are recalculated every 5 minutes.

The boards keep the current week, last week and the week before. Each guild and city also has its own history of past finishes.

The weekly reset

  1. The week ends on Thursday at 19:00 GMT.
  2. For the next 20 minutes, points earned before the deadline are still accepted, so the last minutes of the week count.
  3. The final standings are then locked, the boards move along, and winners are rewarded.
  4. If the server restarts in the middle of a reset, the reset carries on where it stopped. Nothing is given twice or skipped.

  • Guild and city rewards go to every member or citizen who has played in the last 30 days. This includes crafters and others who don't fight. Members aligned with the opposing faction get a message but no reward.
  • Every winner gets an in-game mail listing the final standings.

Moving over from the old system

Scores from the week in progress were carried over to the new boards, and nobody lost points in the switch. The Discord channel posts a single message to confirm the move was successful.

Fishing Leaderboard

Earning points

  • Every fish scores 10 × (its length ÷ the normal length for its kind). A fish that's big for its species scores more than 10, and a small one scores less, whatever the species.
  • After each catch, chat shows the points you earned and your total for the week.
  • Your points also count for your guild and your city.
  • Your score is sent to the board within 2 minutes of a catch, and also every 12 minutes, on login and on logout. The boards are recalculated every 5 minutes.

Elusive FishEvery Elusive Fish caught on the galaxy, all time—

The week ends on Thursday at 19:00 GMT, the same as the GCW board. Late catches are accepted for 20 minutes, then the results are locked and the winners are rewarded.

Rewards

  • Anglers, guilds and cities: your placing is added to your Hobbies collections. You also get a first-place badge for 1st, and "won N times" badges at 1 win, then every 5 wins up to 100.
  • Guild and city wins go to every member or citizen who has played in the last 30 days.
  • Gigantic Fish: each week, the longest fish caught of each kind on each planet sets that week's record (7 kinds × 10 planets = 70 records). The catcher gets:
    • the Gigantic Fish collection slot and badge for that fish;
    • a step towards the Gigantic Fish count badges (1, 5, 10 and so on up to 100);
    • the all 10 planets badge for a kind, or the all 7 kinds badge for a planet, once that set is complete.
  • Every winner and record holder gets an in-game mail from the Fishing Leaderboard.
  • Each week's anglers, guilds, cities and Gigantic Fish are posted to the community Discord.
