In today’s patch we are making a huge QoL improvement for resource reporting that was requested on our QoL forum thread numerous times. It took us a minute to figure out how to implement your ideas and keep the competitive nature of crafting intact, but I think we nailed it! Keep reading to find out the changes that we made and the new addition you can expect when you log in.
First, we thought the best way to start was to take a crafted item that was already in game and update it to make it more relevant and functional.
Interplanetary Survey Droid
This single use droid consumes various survey tools to report available resources on one planet. This droid is helpful when you require information on a specific resource.
Improvements
• Changed the specialized resource requirement to generic resources of the same type IE Vertex Crystallized Gemstone has been changed to Crystallized Gemstone.
• Removed the quality requirement for resources
• Removed the experimentation stage
• Reduced the number of sub-components required to craft this item
• Reduced the survey results delay from 45 mins to standard 10 mins.
• Survey results now include resource attributes.
Intergalactic Survey Droid
This single use droid consumes various survey tools to report available resources and their attributes from all known galaxies and their planets. This droid is helpful when you require information on a wide variety of resources.
Variants from Interplanetary
• Requires additional resources
• Requires additional sub-components
• Increased delay for survey results
• Reports resources and their attributes from all planets
Here is a quick walk through of what to expect when crafting and using the droids!
To craft either of these droids you’ll need to be an Engineer
The first difference you’ll notice when looking at the requirements for both of the droids is the resources and subcomponents required to craft.
The next crafting stages are identical besides the timer of 10 mins for the interplanetary and 25 mins for the intergalactic.
To use the droids you will need to radial the droid in your inventory and select "Use"
**Please note that you require to have the survey tool in your inventory for the resource that you will be surveying for. IE to search for flora resources you will need to have a flora survey tool in your inventory. This tool will be consumed in the surveying process.
Next you select the survey tool that you would like to consume.
Then, for the interplanetary survey droid only, you will need to select the planet that you will be surveying.
Finally, after your droid has searched the plant or the galaxy for the resources that you desire, you will receive an email with the results from each planet that was surveyed!
A new feature that you will find on both the interplanetary and intergalactic survey droids is the ability to search for creature resources with the introduction of our SWG Beyond exclusive Module - Creature Resource Survey.
This item is crafted by a Droid Engineer. This item is located in your weapon and droid crafting tool under the Droid tab. Scroll down to droid modules and look for Module - Creature Resource Survey.
You use this module just like a survey tool when you are ready launch either of the survey droids
Just like the normal survey tools your results will be emailed to you in 10 mins (interplanetary survey droid) or 25 mins (intergalactic survey droid)
