Full Instance & Boss Mechanics Guide
Instance Overview
Legendary Champions of Mustafar is a multi-stage encounter requiring strong communication, positioning, target control, purges, and awareness of mechanics.There are 9 stages. Each stage introduces a different mechanic that must be handled correctly to prevent group wipes.
Stage 1 — Sher-Kar & Malfosa
Starting the Encounter
Activate the Droid and follow it down the path.Talrus will attempt to attack the Droid.
The Tank must immediately sweep aggro and keep Talrus controlled.
Continue escorting the Droid down the path.
Sher-Kar
Once the Droid reaches the designated path:Sher-Kar spawns.
Burn Sher-Kar down to approximately 50% health.
At 50%, Sher-Kar becomes invulnerable.
Malfosa spawns.
Kill Malfosa.
Once Malfosa is dead, Sher-Kar becomes attackable again.
Finish Sher-Kar.
Important: Do not waste damage attempting to attack Sher-Kar while he is invulnerable. Focus Malfosa.
Stage 2 — Split Droid Encounter
The group must split into two groups of 4.4 players on each side of the path.
Two Droids will spawn.
Both Droids will have equal health.
Critical Mechanic — Equal Health
The two Droids must remain close in health.If one Droid gets significantly ahead of the other:
Spike damage will occur and can wipe the entire group.
Strategy
Assign a group to each Droid.Communicate health percentages constantly.
Stop or reduce DPS on one Droid if necessary.
Keep both health bars as even as possible.
Finish them together.
Stage 3 — The Guardian
The Guardian becomes active, but initially he is invulnerable.Name Callout
One player’s name will be called out.That player must immediately react to the mechanic and make their way to the Red Waypoint, which marks the Generator.
Generator Mechanic
The generator has a 50/50 chance of determining which side the Rod will be located on.Check the generator.
If it says:
ONLINE
The Rod must be taken to the Yellow Waypoint Pillar.
Once the Rod is delivered correctly:
The Guardian becomes attackable.
Burn the Guardian.
The mechanic will repeat.
Repeat
Continue the generator/Rod mechanic until the Guardian is dead.Communication is extremely important. The player called out must react quickly and the group should clearly communicate the generator status.
Stage 4 — Doom Bringer
There will be 4 terminals.Terminal Assignments
Main Terminal: One player.Terminal 1: One player.
Terminal 2: One player.
Terminal 3: One player.
The three secondary terminal players will receive numbers.
Number Mechanic
The three players assigned to Terminals 1, 2, and 3 must:Click their assigned terminal.
Receive the numbers.
Relay those numbers to the player operating the Main Terminal.
The Main Terminal player enters the required 6-number combination.
Once the correct combination is entered:
Doom Bringer spawns.
Stage 5 — Doom Bringer
Doom Bringer is a Reflective Boss.Reflect Mechanic
When Doom Bringer activates his reflective buff:Damage dealt to him is reflected back onto the attacker.
Strategy
When Reflect is active:Do NOT use normal damaging abilities.
Switch to Auto Attack.
Continue using Auto Attack to kill Doom Bringer.
The key to this encounter is recognizing when the reflective buff is active and avoiding abilities that will cause reflected damage.
Stage 6 — The Foreman
The Foreman encounter consists of waves of enemies and a stun mechanic.Foreman Mechanics
The Foreman will periodically stun one member of the group at a time.There are ways to prevent or avoid the stun mechanic.
The Foreman will summon adds to assist him.
Strategy
The group must:Survive the incoming waves.
Control and eliminate the adds.
Manage the Foreman’s stun mechanic.
Once the encounter is under control, stun and burn down the Foreman.
Do not allow the adds to overwhelm the group.
Stage 7 — Forward Commander
The Forward Commander begins the encounter with 6 companions.Companion Setup
3 companions on the left3 companions on the right
One companion will become active by changing its name to:
Grenadier
Phase 1
Identify the active Grenadier.Eliminate the active companion.
Continue dealing with the remaining companions.
Once all 6 minions are eliminated, the Forward Commander becomes active.
Commander Mechanics
The Forward Commander will drop grenades on the ground.These grenades deal massive damage.
Strategy
Watch the ground.Avoid grenade areas.
Do not stand in grenade explosions.
Burn the Commander down while maintaining good positioning.
Stage 8 — HK-47
HK-47 is a mechanics-heavy boss requiring quick reactions.Sniper Mechanic
HK-47 will call out one player’s name.That player must immediately run to the:
Yellow Waypoint Barricade
The targeted player must get behind the barricade.
If they fail to reach safety:
The sniper shot can one-shot the player.
Element Mechanic
During the fight, HK-47 will display different elements on his bar.Use the appropriate element/mechanic to deal increased damage when available.
Shield Mechanic
HK-47 will activate shields.These shields must be purged.
If the shields are not removed, HK-47 can unleash a massive damage burst.
Priorities
Watch for the name callout.Get behind the Yellow Waypoint Barricade.
Handle the elemental damage mechanic.
Purge HK-47’s shields.
Avoid his massive damage bursts.
Burn him down.
Stage 9 — Lord Vartonis
Lord Vartonis is the final boss and has multiple phases.He begins the encounter with 6 companions that become active throughout the fight.
Vartonis — Phase 1
Lord Vartonis will periodically drag players toward him.Important
If you are pulled into close range while you do not have main aggro, you can take massive spike damage.Stay away from Vartonis unless you are supposed to be in melee range.
Healing Buff
At a certain point, Vartonis will activate a buff that heals him.When this happens:
STOP ATTACKING VARTONIS.
Wait for the healing buff to expire.
Once the buff disappears:
Resume DPS.
Burn Vartonis into the next phase.
Vartonis — Crystal Phase
A Crystal will become active.At the same time:
One player’s name will be called out.
The entire group will become stunned.
Crystal Mechanic
The player whose name is called must immediately run to the:Yellow Waypoint Crystal
The player must interact with the Crystal to free the group from the stun.
Important
The Crystal requires:2 Purges
Once the Crystal has been removed, the next phase begins.
Vartonis — Companion Phase
Vartonis’s companions will now become active in sets.First Set
The first two companions must be separated.If they are brought together:
They will take decreased damage.
Keep them apart while DPSing them down.
These companions require ranged damage.
Second Set
The second pair requires melee damage.Again:
Keep them separated.
Do not allow them to remain together while attempting to burn them down.
Third Set
The third pair has the opposite mechanic.These two companions must be:
Brought together.
One is Ranged and one is Melee.
Unlike the previous pairs, they need to be grouped together in order to take damage properly.
Vartonis — Final Phase
Once the companion mechanics are complete, Lord Vartonis becomes active again.Saber Reflect
Vartonis must be purged of Saber Reflect.Do not blindly DPS through the reflect mechanic.
Lava Throw
Similar to the first phase, Vartonis will once again interact with players and can throw players into the lava.When thrown:
React quickly.
Get back into position.
Avoid remaining in the lava.
Second Saber Reflect
At approximately 50% health, Vartonis will require another Saber Reflect purge.Once again, remove the reflect before continuing DPS.
Final Invulnerability
Near the end of the fight:Vartonis will become temporarily invulnerable.
Wait for the mechanic to finish.
Resume DPS.
Finish Vartonis.
Instance Complete
Once Lord Vartonis is defeated:Legendary Champions of Mustafar is complete.
Quick Group Priorities
Always Watch For
Aggro: Tank must control dangerous targets.Health Balance: Keep Stage 2 Droids even.
Name Callouts: React immediately when your name is called.
Waypoints: Know where the Red and Yellow Waypoints are.
Purges: Several mechanics require timely purges.
Reflect: Stop using damaging abilities during reflect.
Positioning: Avoid spike damage and environmental hazards.
Adds: Control waves before they overwhelm the group.
Communication: Relay numbers and mechanics clearly.
The Golden Rule
Know your mechanic before the boss calls for it.Most wipes in Legendary Champions of Mustafar can be prevented by paying attention to callouts, watching buffs/debuffs, communicating with the group, and moving to the correct waypoint quickly.
