SWG Beyond Rules

SWG Beyond is a player driven community and we strive to have rules that are both fair and equal.

These rules are an extension of the Code of Conduct. Both documents complement each other and as such, violating aspects set out in each or either, can result in your account being suspended and/or terminated.

It is important to actively review this document to ensure you are aware and fully understand all guidelines set forth under this and other community rules/regulations and although SWG Beyond reserves the right to alter this document at any time, we will do our best to inform you of any changes as and when they have been implemented.

Point allocation will be at the discretion of the staff member that is overseeing the violation and if you are unclear on any of the conditions outlined below, please do not hesitate to contact a member of Beyond staff so they can provide further clarification.

Infraction Point Legend:
4 Points = 24-hour account suspension.
6 Points = 3-day account suspension.
8 Points = 7-day account suspension.
12 Points = 14-day account suspension.
16 Points = 1 month account suspension.
20 Points = 3 months and/or permanent account suspension.
*Points decay 1 per month.

1. AFK’ing in prohibited locations:
The term “AFK’ing” (AFK) is the activity of being away from the keyboard while running macros that do damage to non-player characters (NPC’s).

This includes having macros actively running on one character(s) while actively playing on another character(s) in a different location. (Ex. Spy located in the DWB running macros, while doing missions in space on another character)

Prohibited AFK locations:
• Death Watch Bunker
• Krayt Graveyard

Consequences
• First Offence - Warning and removal from the area.
• Second Offence - 2 infraction points, removal from area, 24-hour freeze of character(s) involved..
• Third Offence - 4 infraction points, removal from area, 48 hour freeze of character(s) involved.
• Additional Offences - You will be removed from the area, infraction points and character freeze will be doubled from your last offence. (Ex. Fourth Offence - 8 infraction points, 96 hour character freeze)

2. AFK’ing without an invite macro:
AFK’ing in an area where a spawn is required to complete game content (quest,badge,collection) or on a RE junk loot (Junkie) spawn is prohibited without running an invite macro. This does not include chronicle quests or “personal” quests.


Consequences
First offence - Warning and possible removal from area.
Second offence - Removal from area, up to 24-hour freeze of character(s) involved. Possible 1-2 infraction points.
Third (or more) offences - 4 infraction points, removal from area, and up to 24-hour freeze of character(s) involved.

3. Unauthorized Multiple Accounts:
This includes creating additional accounts without declaring them under a standard multiple account request.

Consequences
First offence (one account) - Immediate permanent suspension of unauthorized account, up to 2 infraction points.
First offence (2+ accounts) - Immediate permanent suspension of unauthorized accounts, up to 4 infraction points, with additional 1 point(s) added for each additional unauthorized account exceeding two.
Second offence (or more) - Immediate permanent suspension of unauthorized accounts, 4-10 infraction points based on the amount of accounts or severity of the infraction.

*In any of these offences, logs will be thoroughly reviewed. Any items/credits found to be acquired/traded to or from the unauthorized account and any items present in the main account’s house that were acquired by the illegitimate account are subject to seizure.

4. Misuse of Approved Multiple Accounts:
This includes any individual or individuals who have successfully completed the standard multiple account request and have acted contrary to that agreement. This may include and is not limited to:

• Misleading staff about an individual(s) who were confirmed to be using subsequent accounts.
• Original additional account holder(s) ceased playing, leaving one individual using all accounts
• Logging into the same computer with multiple accounts without receiving permission in advance

Consequences
First offence (one account) - Immediate permanent suspension of unauthorized account, up to 2 infraction points.
First offence (2+ accounts) - Immediate permanent suspension of unauthorized accounts, up to 4 infraction points, with additional 1 point(s) added for each additional unauthorized account exceeding two.
Second offence (or more) - Immediate permanent suspension of unauthorized accounts, 4-10 infraction points based on the amount of accounts or severity of the infraction.

*If Staff suspect a user(s) of suspicious activity regarding multiple accounts, they may be asked to submit some, or all the proof required in the original multiple account request.


5. Unapproved Account Access
Each person/player is allowed to create one account. Once that account is approved by a staff member, you are only allowed to access (login) to the game server on your approved account. This includes accounts that have multi-home approval.

Consequences
First offence - Warning, possible 1-2 infraction points.
Second offence - 4-10 infraction points.
Third offence or greater - 12-16 infraction points


6. Harassment, Threats, Embarrassment or Any Other Negative Unwanted Attention/Actions:
This includes but is not limited to:

• Sending consecutive messages when asked to stop.
• Posting messages with the intent to hurt, embarrass, or are of a nature that a reasonable person would find offensive.
• Bypassing a block on Discord
• Bypassing the ignore feature in-game.
• Disrupting an activity where player versus player is not enabled.

After asking the offender to “stop” the player MUST also stop engaging with the offender.

Consequences
First offence: Warning and possible mute of online character(s) and/or discord mute (depending on severity).
Second offence (or more): 1-4 infraction points, possible mute of online character(s) and/or discord mute.
Second offence (or more @ same person): 2-6 infraction points, mute of online character(s) and/or discord mute.

Note: Severity will be at the discretion of the staff member(s) overseeing the violation

7.Hate Speech, Racism, Discrimination, and/or other Severe Harassment
When posting on the SWG Beyond website, discord, or communicating online in game; Public speech that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation". Hate speech is "usually thought to include communications of animosity or disparagement of an individual or a group on account of a group characteristic such as race, color, national origin, gender, disability, religion, or sexual orientation", will NOT be tolerated.

Consequences

First offence – Automatic mute, review severity of the incident. Community member may receive up to 30-day suspension.

Second offence - Automatic mute, review severity of the incident. Community member will receive infraction points and/or possible permanent suspension.

8. Real Life Information/Personal Privacy:
Posting or communicating (in any form) anyone’s (staff or members) personal information that cannot be publicly accessed, without consent completely prohibited.
**Public accessibility will be determined on various factors including but not limited to

• The account is linked to their discord
• They are the owner of the account
• The shared information can easily be found through searching a player name
• The player has linked in the past/revealed this information publicly on SWG Beyond’s discord.

Consequences
First offence - 2-6 infraction points and/or freezing of character/discord mute (may be increased depending on severity).
Second offence (or more) 4-8 infraction points and/or freezing of character/discord mute (may be increased depending on severity).

9. Trolling:
Posting messages that are deceiving for the purpose to be malicious. This includes messages or postings that a server wipe, rollback or update has happened and that has not actually occurred.

Consequences
First offence - Warning.
Second offence - Additional warning. Possible 1 hour Discord mute/frozen in-game.
Third offence (or more) - Discord mute/frozen in-game. Possible 1-2 infraction points.

10. Exploiting via Use of Third-Party Software:
Use and/or distribution of third-party software for the purposes to unfairly gain an advantage, is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to:

• Modification of the client or game files in a way that would appear malicious.
• Programs or functions that manipulate the user interface (UI) to perform rapid keystrokes and/or perform a sequence of actions (macro) that is external to the macro system utilized within Star Wars Galaxies.
• Any programs that put additional stress on the server or allow the player to gain progress faster than intended

Consequences
First offence - 2-4 infraction points.
Second offence (or more) 3-6 infraction points.

11. Impersonating Staff or Another Player:
Altering your name to appear like a member of staff and/or community member, falsely portraying yourself as a member staff and/or community member for malicious or harmful intent is prohibited.

Consequences
First offence - Warning
Second offence – Warning and/or 1-2 infraction points.
Third offence (or more) - 1-3 infraction points.

12. Bypassing Profanity/Name Filter:
Use of an inappropriate or offensive name/names on account creation, Discord handle, characters, in-game cities, in-game guilds. This includes but is not limited to:

• Any names considered harmful, hateful, abusive, derogatory, criminal, or sexually explicit.
• Names that are offensive based on religion, race, gender, or ethnicity.
SWG Beyond retains the right to change any name that falls within or near the above description and/or for any other reason that is not outlined above but is in the spirit of this offence.

Consequences
First offence – Warning, rename (depending on circumstance)
Second offence (or more) – Rename, additional warning, possible Discord/In-game mute and/or 1-2 infraction points.

13. Providing False Information:
This includes intentionally providing false information when registering an account on this service, false reports utilizing the SWG Beyond Discord ticket system and/or SWG Beyond forum report function, and contacting staff in-game, on Discord, or on any other platforms to report false claims.

Consequences
First offence - 1-4 infraction points.
Second offence (or more) - 3-6 infraction points.
*Voluntarily coming forward to Staff to clear up false information will result in reduced punishment.

14. Service Attacks:
Attempting to or threatening to disrupt any of SWG Beyond services or services of community member. This includes threatening a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS), denial of service attack (DoS) or attempting to bypass any service’s firewall.

Consequences
First offence - 10-16 infraction points.
Second offence (or more) - 20 infraction points.

15. Theft of Information/Data:
This includes attempting to acquire any data transmitted from any of our services that is not normally acquirable. This includes but is not limited to:

• SWG Beyond server IP address
• Any transmissions between the servers running our services
• Attempting to acquire any other account information or personal details.
• Using deceptive phishing links, messages or accounts
• Distribution of any stolen/intercepted data

Consequences
First offence - 4-8 infraction points.
Second offence (or more) 10-20 infraction points.
*SWG Beyond takes protection of account information very seriously. This is reflected in the significant infraction points incurred for these offences.

16. Credit Selling:
Buying, trading, or selling in-game currency (“credits”) or items that are worth in-game currency for “real world” currency or items that have any “real world” value is strictly forbidden.

Consequences
First offence - 4-6 infraction points.
Second offence or greater - 6 infraction points.
*In any of these cases logs will be thoroughly reviewed and any credits/items acquired and traded are subject to seizure.

17. Deceptive/Harmful Promotion:
Advertising SWG Beyond in a manner that would be deceptive and/or harmful to a reasonable person. This can include but is not limited to any of the following:

• Claiming to have official SWG Beyond support in your advertisement without permission.
• Falsely claiming to be a member of SWG Beyond Staff in your advertisement.
• Making negative or defamatory comments about any other group or individual not related to SWG Beyond in an advertisement about SWG Beyond.

This does not cover criticisms about SWG Beyond. Criticisms are acceptable provided they do not pull in parties or individuals not related to SWG Beyond or are falsely guised as a promotion for SWG Beyond.

Consequences
First offence - Warning, possible 1-2 infraction points.
Second offence (or more) - 4-8 infraction points.

18. Illegitimate Currency Gain
This includes but is not limited to

• Battlefield tokens
• Arena tokens
• Restuss commendations.

The gaining of currency is deemed illegitimate when one or more of the following conditions are met but are not limited to:

•Killing characters within the same account to obtain currency.
•Utilizing characters on the same account to fulfill a queue requirement and gaining currency as a result. This would include having 2 or more of characters from the same account in a battlefield.
•Utilizing an approved multiple account to fulfill a queue requirement or obtain currency in an illegitimate fashion. This would include a battlefield or arena that consists of only your approved multiple account characters.

Consequences
First offence - Warning.
Second offence - 1-3 infraction points
Third offence (or more)- 4-6 infraction points.

19. Multiple Characters on Follow & Macroing (Bot Trains)
At this time, this rule is limited to characters that are declared “Special Forces” or areas where AFKing is not permitted (see Rule I).

Any deliberate action taken to try and bypass these rules such as "loopholes" etc. may result in disciplinary action.

Disciplinary action that is taken due to violations of these rules, will be decided by Staff based on the severity of the violation. All outcomes are final.

This rule applies to all ground and space combat.

You are in violation of this rule if any of the following conditions are met but are not limited to:

• AFK following any character while declared “Special Forces”
• AFK assisting any character by firing commands while declared “Special Forces”
• More than one combat character(s) from the same account, declared “Special Forces”, working together during combat. This includes combat conducted with droids, pets, or any area commands fired by a macro.
• More than two combat characters on follow/firing off commands while in an area that does not permit AFK. This is not allowed for characters declared "Special Forces".

This rule does not include:

• Entertainers and/or Crafters with any factional status, are permitted provided they do not have a weapon equipped and are not engaging in combat. This includes combat conducted with droids, pets, or area combat commands fired by a macro.
• Having multiple characters from the same account, declared "Special Forces" in private player owned structures,
• Trading items between characters on the same account that are declared “Special Forces” in a public area/space, provided you do not have a weapon equipped and do not engage in combat while performing this action. This includes combat conducted with droids, pets, or any area commands fired by a macro.
• Brief moments (with a duration no greater than 5 minutes) when declared “Special Forces” and are located in a public area / space, provided you do not have a weapon equipped and do not engage in combat. This includes combat conducted with droids, pets, or any area commands fired by a macro.

Consequences
First Offence - Warning, possible 1-2 infraction points.
Second Offence (or more) - 4-6 infraction points.

20. Repeated Unwanted and Irrelevant Messages (Spam)
Repeatedly posting any form of consecutive messages, images or GIFs that a reasonable person would associate as spam will not be tolerated. This includes on Discord, forums, and/or in-game messages.

Consequences
First offence - Warning, possible 1-2 infraction points.
Second offence - 2-3 infraction points.
Third offence or greater - 4-6 infraction points.
