Today we are going to discuss The Serpent Shard and how to obtain it. This quest is one of the Fate of the Galaxy pre-quests.
Let's head to Mensix Mining Facility on Mustafar where we can talk to Ikt (/way 365 -1155) in the cantina to start this quest.
Ikt will tell you how this crystal was once owned by him was stolen by Illiv Orfa. Ikt needs to hire an individual to get this crystal back and will reward the individual with 20000 credits once they had killed Orfa and retrieved the crystal. The crystal itself is imbued with the power of the Force which gives its holder a great ability to shrug off insidious effects which caused by damage over time.
Ikt does not provide you with a waypoint but instructs you to head to the ruins, west of the volcano.
Head to (/way Mustafar -1433 189 Serpent Shard #1) for a quest update.
Then proceed to the altar ruins at (/way Mustafar -1656 216 Serpent Shard #2) just past the initial camp.
Use the radial menu to inspect the altar. You are then instructed to wait for the thief to return. (This could take up to 30 seconds)
Once Illiv Orfa appears you must converse with her regarding the stolen shard. Eventually she will attack you.
After defeating Illiv Orfa you will be told that you have found the stolen shard. Return to the altar and use the radial menu to insert this shard.
once you insert the shard return to Ikt in the Mensix Cantina for your reward.

If you plan on doing The Legendary Avatar this buff is a must. You will use this before the Commando Boss and find it makes a world of difference.
